Our technologies – the right solution for every need

Thanks to comprehensive technologies, we can realize your individual wishes

As a special machine manufacturer, we use a wide variety of technologies in our machines and systems. This includes self-developed processes and functionalities as well as proven and evaluated purchased components. Some of the technologies used by us are included here.

Our technologies for your applications / processes

Feeding technology

In feeding technology, we are often faced with the task of providing bulk material in such a way that it is brought into a defined position based on its location. The long-established vibration pots with downstream separation and position orientation are often used. At k-tech, vibration platforms with camera-based position and orientation recognition are increasingly used. Using a robot system, we achieve excellent results regarding the flexibility of the range of parts and, gentle parts handling. The following technologies are used:

  • Vibrating pots
  • Drum separators
  • Step separators
  • Spring untangling systems
  • Pneumatic separation systems
  • Camera-based robots with vibrating plate systems

Handling systems

Depending on the required cycle time, precision, flexibility, and the ambient conditions, we use a wide variety of handling systems. Whether an ultra-fast SCARA robot, a highly flexible 6-axis robot or a pneumatic XY system is planned, k-tech always decides in close cooperation with you.

We use:

  • SCARA robots
  • 5- and 6-axis robots
  • Tripods
  • Grippers
  • Tensioners
  • Swivel systems
  • Linear axes
  • Vacuum grippers
  • Bernoulli grippers
  • Adhesion grippers
  • Electric rotary and linear drives
  • And other pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical handling systems

Dispensing

Whether gluing, sealing, lubricating or filling: k-tech has already carried out various projects in this area where liquids, pastes, adhesives and sealants were processed. For this purpose, we use spray and flow systems. The application and filling are done depending on the process by statically attached systems up to 6-axis robots. The process controls include simple mass weighing up to three-dimensional control of the applied adhesive bead or the like by a camera system.

k-tech uses:

  • Contact application
  • 2k and 1k systems
  • Spraying
  • Pouring

Technical cleanliness and cleaning procedures

The quality of a finished product is largely dependent on the particulate contamination during its manufacture. That is why we have dealt a lot with “technical cleanliness” according to ISO 16232 and VDA 19 and, have optimized the manufacturing process in a targeted way. We avoid and remove particles in the size range from 100 μm to 5,000 μm. Upon request, other particle sizes can be tested.

Clean room technology and ESD

Our customers in electronics, e-mobility, battery technology and optics have the highest requirements when it comes to clean room suitability and the electrostatic compatibility of machines and systems. To meet this quality standard, we use components certified for clean room technology, defined particle extraction systems and laminar, filtered air flows to protect the sensitive components. We use regulated ionizers, materials with specific surface resistances and precisely defined grounding concepts to ensure protection against damage caused by discharges.

For further information, refer to the page of our own brand PCIS.

  • Ionizing fan
  • Ionizing nozzles
  • Antistatic materials
  • Defined bleeder resistors
  • Grounding concepts

Transport systems

In both fully and semi-automated processes, it is important to bring workpieces into the right position at the right time so that they can be processed, assembled, or equipped. The parts are either placed on workpiece carriers or transported directly. Process tracking information on production or measurement results can be stored on e.g. RFID chips or in a central database.

k-tech usually integrates the following transport systems:

  • Conveyor belts
  • Chain conveyors
  • Toothed belt conveyors
  • Pallet conveyors
  • Roller conveyors
  • Workpiece carriers
  • Rotary indexing tables
  • Linear systems
  • RFID or 2D coding systems

Machining processes and joining technology

A great number of the processes in our built systems include machining and joining techniques. These can be processes already validated by the customer or specially developed and adapted to the requirements. Materials such as glass, various plastics, metals, as well as rubber and carbon fibre can be found in the following machining processes:

  • Press-fitting
  • Flanging
  • Crimping
  • Punching
  • Cutting
  • Stamping
  • Bending
  • Milling
  • Breaking
  • Turning
  • Drilling
  • Caulking
  • Dispensing
  • Joining technology
  • Screwing
  • Riveting
  • Welding
  • Gluing
  • Press in
  • Flanging

Detecting, measuring, checking

We use a wide variety of measurement and detection systems for process control as well as process regulation. For example, we use force, displacement, and torque measuring sensors, but also current and voltage measuring systems. Our team is also very familiar with optical systems: from simple light barriers for presence control to image processing equipped with artificial intelligence.

We save the measured data in a system database. This is not only used for analysis and optimization purposes, but also for quality control and process regulation. These values can be transferred to further systems such as control systems, merchandise management systems, ERP systems, etc. via an interface.

Customized automation solutions for electronics, sensors and mechatronics enable efficient and precise production control, optimizing the production of high-quality electronic components and mechatronic systems. If you would like to find out more about automated testing technology, we can advise you. Get in touch with us here.

We can integrate the following process controls:

  • EOL test

Marking and labelling

Labelling and marking are of the greatest importance, especially for the increasingly important traceability of parts for quality assurance. Laser marking on 3D surfaces as well as “on the fly” are just as much a part of our range as classic inkjet and pad printing. In addition, we have already had good experience with automated labelling and needling systems for our customers.

k-tech uses the following systems for labelling and marking:

  • Laser markers
  • Inkjet markers
  • Labelling systems
  • Needle systems
  • Pad printers

Packing and palletizing

Upon customer’s request, our machines are of course able to pack the finished parts in bags or boxes. Parts that cannot be handled as bulk goods can also be sorted into pallets and magazines. For this purpose, k-tech is increasingly focusing on palletizing robots.

We can also take over the planning and implementation of the further handling for the following variants:

  • Bags
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Boxes
  • Pallets
  • Trays
  • Magazines
  • Crates
